Ethan Turner > Birds of prey nesting between the I-40 bridge and state route 70 bridge over Watts Bar lake in Kingston Tennessee. These birds are very shy and hard to photograph with a 200 mm lense.
Ethan Turner > Young birds about to leave their nest near where I work in Oak Ridge, TN. When I took this photo, they had been flying for several days, but still were being fed by their parents. Initially, I made the mistaken assumption that they would have no period of "flying lessons" and would simply leave the nest upon their first flight and never return. I was wrong about that, but I have no doubt they won't be around the nest much longer.
